The challenge
The Ministry of Justice needed a detailed survey and condition report of the drainage system at one of its prisons, to keep on top of current and future maintenance needs. Our client, Dynamic FM, brought us on board to help, as we already support them on a range of prison drainage projects across the country.
The role we played
Acting as a specialised and approved drainage contractor, we worked alongside Dynamic FM, the Ministry of Justice and Cushman & Wakefield consultant engineers. Over seven months, we carried out comprehensive CCTV drainage surveys. Our biggest challenge was the secure environment, with our teams needing to work in close proximity to the prisoners. To overcome this, we had escorts at all times and carefully scheduled work around lock-up periods.
The impact we made
We provided the MOJ with a detailed report of the drainage network serving the prison. This also included a full summary of recommended repairs and a comprehensive plan of the entire drainage network, which they’d never had access to before. This new level of clarity and visibility is enabling them to prioritise maintenance work and plan for the future, and we’ve received positive feedback not just from our client, but from all parties involved.
“We had really positive feedback, not just from our client, but from everyone involved.”
